NEW YORK CITY HOTELS
When visiting New York, most people flock toward Manhattan, which is by far one of the wealthier and more scenic areas of the New York scene. This being said some of the most incredible hotels in the state are within walking distance from Central Park, and they are by far some of the most luxurious hotels in all the world.
THE CARLYLE – Located on the upper east side, this is one of the city’s most elegant hotels. In existence for more than 75 years, it is known for its ambience, donning itself as more of a luxurious town home than an urban hotel. The Carlyle offers guests a choice of over two dozen different suite styles, the grandest of which is the Empire Suite, a 2,600 sq. ft., 2 bedroom, 4.5 bath duplex with a full kitchen, office, and its very own art collection. Although smaller suites are available at this hotel, whether you choose a larger or smaller suite you will find the views of the city and park to be incredible.
HOTEL PLAZA ATHENEE – This establishment, located just a little further down on Madison Avenue, offers a sense of European sophistication with all the modern amenities, including items like 42 inch plasma televisions, iPod docking stations and wifi. Large, spacious rooms fill this hotel, with top suites that offer dining rooms, indoor atriums and/or outdoor balconies. Attached to the famous Arabelle restaurant from Sex in the City, this hotel is ranked one of the best in the world.
THE LOWELL – The Lowell is a splendid boutique property with just
72 rooms, 47 which are suites. No rooms are exactly alike. The top unit
(literally) is the 2,000-square-foot Penthouse Suite, where three
bedrooms and four terraces make it easy to stretch out.
THE FOUR SEASONS – Located in one of the busiest districts in
Manhattan, the Four Seasons New York, is probably one of the best known
hotels in New York. A 52 story building housing 368 units, the most
incredible of which is the Ty Warner Penthouse on the top floor. It is
an incredible 4,300 square foot suite with a 360 view of Manhattan.
THE MANDARIN ORIENTAL TOWER – In this hotel, located at the top
of the Time Warner Center, near Columbus Circle, you will find 248 rooms
with incredible floor to ceiling views of the park, river or the entire
city. With many amenities including a 14,500 square foot spa, a stay in
these luxurious accommodations won’t be soon forgotten.
THE RITZ CARLTON CENTRAL PARK – This hotel is a 33 story high
rise, with 259 guest rooms and suites that come with such incredible
park views that on a sunny day are so incredible that you may be tempted
not to leave the room. The best room in the house is called the Central
Park Suite which has a private service entrance and a dining room that
seats eight.
THE RITZ CARLTON BATTERY PARK – Another one of the incredible
Ritz Carlton hotels, this one is located at the southernmost tip of
Manhattan, where the views of the Statue of Liberty from the hotel’s
14th floor are amazing. The most incredible room in this exquisite hotel
is the Ritz Carlton Suite, with incredible views of the city are
available not only with the in room telescope but from the deep soak
Jacuzzi as well.
THE MERCER – This hotel in Soho, is one of the only ones on the
list not within two blocks of Central Park. With its 75 guest rooms and
suites this location has high ceilings, huge windows and large
bathrooms. Many of its suites are done as New York style lofts, giving
them that home away from home feeling. By location it tends to draw more
of the artsy types and its 24 hour food service lends itself to the late
hours kept by its guests.
